There are many fascinating stories to be told about Coromandel Valley. Hearing them will open a treasure chest of information that will capture your imagination, so don't miss this opportuity to take a walk with a guide who knows the history of the many places that you will pass.

This is one of a series of very entertaining and rewarding guided walks along the excellent walking paths and through picturesque locations. The route is not strenuous and will take about three hours.

Highlights of this walk include:

  • Horners Bridge, built in 1866 on the (then) major Goolwa-Adelaide route
  • Coromandel Valley Institute
  • Murray’s Biscuit and Jam factory, which operated from the 1850s to 1903
  • The Weymouth houses and old bakehouse on Rowlands Hill Road
  • The Wait house and former butcher’s shop/store
  • Chambers Creek
  • Coromandel Valley War Memorial

Please Note:

  • The pathways are not rough, but sturdy footwear is recommended.
  • The duration is approx. 3 hours (depending on questions, which will be encouraged)
  • Tickets will be issued for each walker and will include entry to Winn's Bakehouse Museum and Gamble Cottage (those visits may be taken on other dates when the museums are open).
  • Group numbers limited to 15 walkers.
