Frank Smith Park
Tucked behind the Coromandel Valley Primary School and accessible from Magarey Road, Frank Smith Park is a hidden treasure.
The River Sturt meanders around the oval on its way to the sea and provides a spot to cool off for dogs whose owners have taken them to the Park for a bit of a run.
The late Frank Smith, who is remembered in the Park's name, created the picturesque dam some four or five decades ago and would no doubt be delighted to see families of ducks gliding effortless among the reeds and the colourful birdlife in the trees.
The Tom Roberts Horse trail also loops through Frank Smith Park.
