Anzac Day 2012

More than 200 people from nonagenarians* to babes in arms gathered at the Coromandel Valley War Memorial for the 2012 ANZAC Day Commemoration Service.

Blackwood RSL represesentative Bob King was Master of Ceremornies for the moving service which included Reflections shared by Retired Army Chaplain and Uniting Church Minister Neale Michael.

Wreaths were laid by Mr King on behalf of the RSL, Member for Davenport Iain Evans and City of Onkaparinga Councillor Robert DeJonge. Many others who attend laid rosemary cuttings on the memorial as private tributes to defence personnel past and present.

At the conclusion of formalities, Coromandel Community Centre hosted morning tea which provided a wonderful opportunity both for reunions and to make new friends.
